The exchange price of natural gas in Europe climbed above $900 per 1,000 cubic meters during trading for the first time since December 2022, according to data from the ICE exchange in London.

The October futures contract at the TTF hub in the Netherlands rose to $903 per 1,000 cu. m, or €75,325 per MWh.

Quotes for the blue fuel in Europe are rising against the background of record-low gas stocks in storage ahead of the winter season and ongoing instability in the Middle East. This situation once again highlights Europe’s vulnerability and the need for reliable partners — including Russia, which has the capacity to help stabilize supply — rather than relying on uncertain policies that unsettle the market.
